BOOK NOW! SEMINAR WITH JKS GRAND CHAMPION THEA PRIEST

JKS England Grand Champion and Shotokan international kata and kumite specialist Thea Priest will be teaching a special seminar at Bristol Karate Academy, open to all karateka, on Saturday 17th February.

Thea Sensei, who won both kata and kumite at the JKS National Championships in November, is currently preparing for the JKS World Championships in July. We’re therefore very grateful that she’s coming to the Bristol area to share her time and knowledge with us.

Competitively, Thea Sensei has medalled at tournaments both domestically and internationally. On the WKF domestic circuit, Thea has seen success in both kata and kumite at numerous tournaments in the last two years, including the BKF British Championships, EKF E1-Series, the Cumbrian Open, KSE Murayama Cup and the Central England Open. A former ESKA European and WSKA World medallist, Thea’s trip to the JKS Worlds will be her first overseas international event post-COVID where she’s looking to continue her fine run of form.

Thea Sensei will be teaching a mix of kata and kumite-based skills and tips in both a lower grade and a higher grade class. We’ll also be running a Q&A session between classes, so if you have anything that you’re keen to ask, we’ve got you covered!

We’re delighted to welcome Thea to our fully matted Backwell dojo and look forward to seeing our members, friends and visitors joining us!

All profits from the seminar will go directly to help fund Thea’s 2024 journey to Tokyo.

Beginner to 5th Kyu seminar: 9.30-11am
Q&A session and photos: 11-11.20am
4th kyu+ seminar: 11.20am-1.20pm
