It was always going to be a challenge for this year to compete with last, but you've done it: 2023 has been even bigger!

And while we are so proud of how all of you have progressed throughout 2023, we were delighted to acknowledge the efforts of a small number of members who stood out amongst a multitude of excellent karateka.

Congratulations to all of our winners. Keep pushing hard and continuing to role model the behaviours that will make all of us even better in the year ahead.

WARRIOR OF THE YEAR

Awarded to a girl and boy who have shown exceptional effort levels and potential throughout the year.

Girl: Clara Velar Pozo
Boy: Thomas Seaver

BEST NEWCOMER

Awarded to a member that’s new or has passed their first grading in the last 12 months.

10 years or under: Stephanie Robinson
11-15 years: Phoenix Slater
16 years and above: Tristan Hunt

FUTURE STAR

Awarded to an outstanding karateka aged 10 years or under at each of our dojos.

RISING STAR

Awarded to a karateka that has shown real strides forward in the last 12 months.

11-15 years: Olive Davies

OUTSTANDING FEMALE

Awarded to females showing great potential, skill, courage or tenacity.

Novice to 4th kyu: Scarlett Jones
3rd kyu and above: Nephele Metsiou

SPECIAL RECOGNITION

Awarded to a karateka that has stood out amongst a multitude of great Academy members.
