While the whole nation is facing unusual situations, so are members of Bristol Karate Academy - but for different reasons.

For the last three Sundays in a row, we've been delighted to host three KUGB Grand Champions! And in many ways the restrictions on contact across the UK were what helped make this happen.

After a successful online seminar last week with Sensei Matt Price we're delighted to host another guest instructor this coming Sunday morning - Sensei John Bruce!

John Sensei (5th Dan) will now be teaching an extended Sunday class, from 10-11.30am, through Zoom! While this seminar is our way of saying 'thank you' to our members for making the move online, it's also open to guests from other clubs. [...]

The COVID-19 pandemic didn't stop 65 dedicated members and guests of Bristol Karate Academy training hard on Sunday as the club hosted the renowned Sensei Matt Price (6th Dan) - through a video training session! We're delighted to see that this week's move to online training has been so well received. We've seen you log on to Zoom in your droves and the classes have had an excellent buzz around them!

As a big thank you, we have arranged a special event for you. Sensei Matt Price (6th Dan) will now be teaching an extended Sunday class, from 10-11.30am!

Dojo training comes to your living room! While we're forced to close the dojo doors you'll still be able to train on the same day and at the same time as you did before - through our real-time online classes.

While COVID-19 calls disruption read our statement about how we're closing the door on face-to-face class for now and replacing them with online virtual training sessions.

Bristol Karate Academy continues to monitor Government advice on the prevention and spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

At present, lessons will continue as usual, including tomorrow's special seminar with Sensei Sherry in Nailsea.

It is with great sadness that we heard today of the passing of Sensei Bob Poynton (8th Dan).

Bob Sensei was a stalwart and ambassador of the Karate Union of Great Britain, who was truly committed to the organisation. As a competitor, Sensei was a member of the KUGB and all-styles national teams and was National Individual Kumite Champion in 1976.
