Join us for Kangeiko 2020!
From Monday 27th January to Sunday 2nd February we’ll be holding our first ever Kangeiko and we are inviting you to take part!

Kangeiko means "cold training". It is a week-long training programme to start the year with a high levels of effort, spirit and commitment. It will also help you to build resilience and mental toughness. Each session is an early morning class that starts with a short outdoor run and is in addition to your normal classes.

It’s an early start. When it’s cold and dark outside, you’ll be out of bed and at the dojo for a 6am start. We start with an early morning run and – as long as there are enough people – there will be two routes: a short run and a longer one. When we return from our run, the Karate training begins. Ignore the cold. Ignore the fatigue. Just train. The session will be finished by 7.30am, so you’ll still have time to get to work or school after training.

On Sunday – as a special treat – training starts and finishes a little later: 7.00am – 8.30am. At the end of the Sunday session, everyone that completes an entire week of Kangeiko will be presented with a certificate and we’ll break for a celebration of the week with breakfast baps, teas and coffees that are free for everyone that takes part. After this, our standard 10am class will take place, which we’d be delighted if you joined us for.

Kangeiko is a wonderful challenge to bring us together.  Not many people will pick up the challenge, but you’re not like other people. It’s going to be your year. Seize the opportunity and join us!
