On Tuesday we were delighted to welcome 25 new and experienced karateka to Long Ashton Community Centre for the opening of our newest dojo.

Those that attended were treated to a special class by the new regular instructor in Long Ashton, Sensei Steven Connell, and Bristol Karate Academy’s Chief Instructor, Sensei Tim Griffiths.

We were pleased to welcome several new students on the opening night, who learnt how to block, punch and strike, as well as trying their hands at some flow drills with a partner. After the first hour, the brown and black belts worked on kumite (sparring) skills with partners for a further half an hour.

The Long Ashton dojo is now open every Tuesday evening, from 6.15pm for beginners, with anyone below brown belt training for an hour and brown & black belts continuing until 7.45pm. If you’re new to Karate or have some experience and would like to join Bristol Karate Academy then get in touch. Fill in an enquiry form on our Long Ashton dojo page and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.  If you’re already a member at one of our other venues then come along – there’s no need for you to book. Just come along and get training!

We look forward to welcoming you to the Long Ashton dojo soon!
