Bristol Karate Academy comes to Westbury-on-Trym
Bristol Karate Academy's new Westbury-on-Trym dojo hit the ground running on Thursday 5th October in its new home, Westbury Village Hall.

Eighteen people joined us for our first class in BS9, from new starter to those with over a decade's experience. The new class gives those in Westbury, Redland and Bristol's surrounding areas the opportunity to learn traditional Shotokan Karate from a championship-winning team of instructors.

Classes continue at Westbury Village Hall every Thursday evening, from 6.15-7.15pm. And as part of our support for Bristol's year as European City of Sport we're delighted to offer new starters in Westbury a free introductory class in October for anyone that books in advance.  If you'd like to join us then get in touch by using the form on our Contact Us page.

After the class the Academy's chief instructor talked more about the new venue: "We've had a presence in the area for around 40 years but this is the first time we've come to Westbury.  We're really pleased to be able to open up here. The venue is perfect for traditional Karate classes. The extra training time for local students will help us in our push for constant improvement, which I’m really passionate about. It also means that we can cater for even more people that show an interest in learning a traditional martial art.

"We believe it's really important to learn from an experienced team of instructors, so our team have a minimum of 10 years of experience and are at least 2nd Dan in rank. If you are looking to learn a martial art then come along and give Karate a try!"
