Congratulations to Cameron and Monaghan Mitchell who both picked up medals at the Chojinkai Cumbrian Open on Sunday.

The championships, held in Penrith, have been a fixture on the English tournament circuit for 49 years now. Cameron and Mon were both keen to give it a try, taking the long drive from Bristol once the Watanabe Sensei seminar was complete on Saturday.

Cameron was competing in the Para kata for the second time this year, after taking part in the Murayama Cup in April. Despite being nervous at tournaments, Cameron is always determined to do his best. And he clearly did this, picking up his second gold medal of the year.

Cameron was not the only one to go home with kata silverware. Monaghan made his way all the way through to the final of the 6^th-4^th Kyu Kata event for 8-9 year olds, where he secured a sterling silver for his efforts.
